Luke 10 reminds us that spiritual drift can be disguised as devotion. Martha was busy serving Jesus, while Mary chose to simply be with Him. Our souls were created to be with Christ, not just serve Him. The posture of our hearts matters more than the busyness of our service.

Jesus teaches us to pray because we don’t naturally know what we need. We ask for control, comfort, money, or our problems to disappear. But God invites us into something deeper: intimacy, worship, surrender, security, freedom, and confidence in Him.

You can ask for the right thing, for the right reasons, and still receive a “no” from God. We may ask Him to remove our pain, take away our thorn, or save someone we love. But what happens when He doesn’t answer the way we hoped? How do we reconcile unanswered prayer with the goodness and faithfulness of God?
