Why church membership

We exist to glorify God as we enjoy and obey Jesus Christ and help others do the same.

To live out that mission, we know membership in a local church and an authentic community with a group of believers are two of God's great provisions for us as disciples of Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25).

For some, church membership is a new or strange idea. We get it! To help, we’ve put together a helpful document, with scripture references, that we’d invite you to pray through and consider.

Join us at our Enjoy Jesus class

Everyone’s first step at Onward is to join us in a conversation about what it means to Enjoy Jesus today and forever.

Three important topics we will cover:

  • Who is Jesus?

  • How do you get to know Him?

  • How do you talk with Him?

At the end of your time, our team will share with you the next steps in a relationship with Jesus and or how to join His family here at Onward.

  • We are so clear that your first step is our Enjoy Jesus class because that’s what is our foundation. To enjoy and obey Jesus. We’ll go over the next steps of membership during that class. From there you’ll learn more about sharing your story, our membership covenant, serving, and community.
