James: Trials

Series: Onward Sermon Series

"In the journey of life, we inevitably face trials—some undeserved, others a consequence of our own actions. Yet, amidst the tumultuous waves, there's a comforting assurance: He is there with us.

Through every struggle, He promises His presence, offering solace and the wisdom necessary to navigate through the darkest of times. It's in these moments that we learn the true depth of His love and the strength of our spirits."

Scripture: James 1:2-12

Discussion Questions

1. In order for us have joy in the midst of trials, Chase charged us to look forward to how things will be when Jesus returns, in our forever home (Revelation 21:1-4).  How often do you think about Heaven? Why do you think it's hard for Believers to think about our forever home, especially in the midst of trials?

2. Are there any current trials in your life that you have exclusively contributed to because of sin? If so, does your community group know about it?

3. Have you ever perceived a trial in your life as an opportunity to be "stewarded"? Or is your idea of a trial just a season to get through to the other side?
