My Story

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. Unfortunately, my parents divorced when I was 10, and my younger brother and I lived with our mom, spending weekends with our dad. My mom has been and continues to be the pillar of faith in our family. As a single mother working the night shift as a nurse at Baylor Hospital, she was committed to raising my brother and me in a home rooted in the daily disciplines of faith. We went to church several times a week and had family prayer each night.

I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord when I was 10 years old and was then baptized at the age of 13. While these are specific markers in my life, I truly believe my faith started growing when I was on my own at college. With no one telling me what to do, where to be, or what to believe, it gave me the ultimate decision on how my life was going to develop. From Texas Tech to Texas A&M and overseas with Campus Crusade, I ultimately graduated from Criswell College with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible Studies.

Life has presented many challenges that have tried to knock me off the path of following God, but I'm grateful that God was close to me. He hid me in the palm of His hands through different seasons. I've been on the mountaintop and in the valley low, and through it all, He blessed me, corrected me, and protected me.

I'm married to my wife, Sara, of 16 years and we have three beautiful children, Ryker, Reese, and Robyn. We have a dog named Ranger, a rabbit named Bun Bun, and a hamster called Hammy. We are hoping to start the first ever wildlife farm in our house :).

  • Sometimes I'll get the urge to pick up a guitar or hope on to the keyboard and start playing and singing. This simple and spontaneous time really helps me experience a holy moment.
