Last updated November 5th.
In 2020, we had the opportunity to become the official church partner of an FISD school. Smith Elementary School was the school we selected, not knowing it would be within two miles of the future Onward building site. Why did we adopt a school? Because as a church, we seek to 'dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness' (Psalm 37:3). FISD is the largest employer in Frisco and impacts a vast majority of residents. The opportunity to be salt and light in a local elementary school is exactly why we are here. Join us in praying for Smith, the teachers, the students, and serving as opportunities come available.
Fill out the form to sign up to Adopt-A-Teacher (or any staff member). There are 77 people on staff at Smith. Our goal would be to have each one adopted by a member, family, or community group in our body.
The expectation is for a monthly touchpoint with your adoptee through an encouraging note, a Sonic drink, a coffee, a small giftcard, etc. Our heart is to build relationships with these teachers, so be as creative as you can to care for them!

There will be various opportunities to go to Smith to serve the staff. Some days we will deliver treats. Some days we will help in their classrooms.
Thursday, November 11th we will be handing out Chicken Sandwiches to the staff from 10:30am-1:30pm. This will be our first service day of the year, and we are excited to get to come alongside our body to serve the teachers. If you're intersted in joining, please email us.
